Snoop Dogg is not dead and buried, he’s just resting. That was clear Friday when the infamous American gangster rapper proclaimed his transformation into a Rastafari reggae artist named Snoop Lion.
This transformation to “peace and love” — from what he calls his past as “a childish gangster rapper” — is chronicled in a new feature documentary, Reincarnated. In a cloud of ganja smoke, it was filmed in Jamaica during the Dogg’s spiritual odyssey. Yet, when Snoop Lion showed up at the Toronto filmfest press conference for Reincarnated, he playfully reminded us about the Dogg.
