Snoop Dogg's Social 50 Chart Gain, Courtesy of Coachella

Tupac Shakur’s virtual appearances at the Coachella Music Festival (April 15 and 22) spurs a gain for his on-stage duet partner, Snoop Dogg, on the Billboard Social 50 chart this week. The Social 50 chart ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays. A video of the performance, which was first released April 17 under Snoop Dogg’s official YouTube channel, “GGN: Double G Hood News,” has since gained over 3.5 million views, helping Snoop rocket his way up the Social 50 from No. 29 to No. 20. (2Pac, however, doesn’t appear on the Social 50 as the popular clip was loaded to Snoop’s official YouTube channel, not 2Pac’s, hence the growth for Tha Doggfather.)
